Danhostel Randers Youth & and Family Hostel is located in a public park, just 10-minute walk from the town centre. Not only is this hostel a perfect setting for active family holidays with a difference, it is also ideal for school camps, trainings camps and other forms of group accommodation. The Gudenå – the longest river in Denmark – is just a 15-minute walk from the hostel. The river is lined with rushes and provides habitats for a rich variety of birds.
Randers is the sixth biggest town in Denmark, and was originally known as ‘the city where the 13 high roads meet the water way’. The charming pedestrian streets in the town centre offer excellent shopping, a rich supply of cultural events and lots of entertainment. Furthermore, a large concentration of supermarkets, etc., means that the city lives up to the reputation of being a commercial city more than ever.
The primary tourist attraction in the area is the RandersRain Forest, centrally located in Randers by the Gudenå river. The town’s location makes Randers very suitable as a base for touring many sights: the Djurs Sommerland amusement park, Clausholm and Rosenholm castles, the DanishAgriculturalMuseum, the KattegatCenter, the Frigate Jylland, Tivoli Friheden and the model railway Europa.
